TASK 1

WASHINGTON ELEVATION MAP


  1. Using the Washington TEMPLATE, create a map of Washington State by inserting the template behind the next blank page with the southern end of Washington close to the staple and the northern end with Puget Sound facing outward to open part.
    Number this page # on the lower left corner (and in your Table of Contents). Working with either a black and white or a color map replicate in your notebook book an elevation map. Whether you use BLACK AND WHITE or COLOR make sure you include a map key. Also include a compass rose. ONLY USE BLACK OR COLORED PENCILS ON ALL MAPS

TASK 2

  1. Each Friday we will play a game of PNW Geography Baseball based on questions you will write each week on the topic we are studying. You are required to turn in one question on Tuesday and one question on Thursday each week. On a 3 X 5 notecard write a question that relates to what everyone has read, discussed or viewed as a whole class about PNW Geography. The question may be multiple choice, direct question or definition. You must include the answer and BOTH first and last name for credit.
  2. The Friday game and rules will be discussed in class. :.)

TASK 3

VOCABULARY II

  1. Define each word using a logical source, PNW ONLINE DICTIONARY , classroom dictionaries, text book, myself or another teacher (if you cannot find the word in either books). You will have x number of words to do and you must pick the remaining words to equal 10 words defined.
  2. After defining each word, write one sentennce for each word using it correctly.
    OR
  3. Write one paragraph (minimum 5 sentences) logically using all 10 of your vocabulary words.

TASK 4

GLACIAL FLOODS POWER POINT

  1. Using the "T" notetaking outline, note important facts as you view the Glacial Floods Powerpoint.
  2. Go back through your notes and highlight what you think is important.
  3. Write three paragraphs, using our writing process, with three supporting facts in each paragraph about each of the three Glacial Lobes that impacted Pacific Northwest Geography - Purcell Lobe, Okanogan Lobe, and the Puget Sound Lobe

    1. Using the TEMPLATE, create a map of Washington State by inserting the template behind the next blank page with the southern end of Washington close to the staple and the northern end with Puget Sound facing outward to open part.
      Number this page # on the lower left corner (and in your Table of Contents). This map will require you to use scissors, glue stick, 1 sheet of foil, and a thread bundle. On your Washington Waterways Map in your notebook book, using the thin tread, create and label all of the rivers found in your textbook on PAGE 28 titled Washington Boundaries and Physical Features map. For lakes and reservoirs, use the thicker yarn to create and remember to label all.
