TASK 1

WASHINGTON WATERWAYS MAP

  1. Using the TEMPLATE, create a map of Washington State by inserting the template behind the next blank page with the southern end of Washington close to the staple and the northern end with Puget Sound facing outward to open part.
    Number this page # on the lower left corner (and in your Table of Contents). This map will require you to use scissors, glue stick, 1 sheet of foil, and a thread bundle. On your Washington Waterways Map in your notebook book, using the thin tread, create and label all of the rivers found in your textbook on PAGE 28 titled Washington Boundaries and Physical Features map. For lakes and reservoirs, use the thicker yarn to create and remember to label all.

TASK 2

PNW Geography Baseball

  1. Each Friday we will play a game of PNW Geography Baseball based on questions you will write each week on the topic we are studying. You are required to turn in one question on Tuesday and one question on Thursday each week. On a 3 X 5 notecard write a question that relates to what everyone has read, discussed or viewed as a whole class about PNW Geography. The question may be multiple choice, direct question or definition. You must include the answer and BOTH first and last name for credit.
  2. The Friday game and rules will be discussed in class. :.)

OTHER WASHINGTON RIVERS AND LAKES

  1. In your Notebook, on page #, list as many rivers and lakes that you can find on the inside cover map. Be careful to only include those found in Washington State.

VOCABULARY III

  1. Define each word using a logical source, PNW ONLINE DICTIONARY , classroom dictionaries, text book, myself or another teacher (if you cannot find the word in either books). You will have x number of words to do and you must pick the remaining words to equal 10 words defined.
  2. After defining each word, write one sentennce for each word using it correctly.
    OR
  3. Write one paragraph (minimum 5 sentences) logically using all 10 of your vocabulary words.

TASK 5

WASHINGTON COUNTIES AND REGIONS

  1. Using the template, create a map of Washington State Regions by copying the map on PAGE 32 in your textbook.
  2. Color each region a different color using coloring pencils.
  3. Cut each Region out and glue with a glue stick one region on each white page. Remember to put the page number on the lower left corner.
  4. Title each page correctly, i.e., Coastal Region, Western Lowland Region, etc.

WASHINGTON STATE COUNTIES IN REGIONS

  1. On the lined page facing each Region map list all of the counties you believe are in that region. It is important that you think about the counties and where they are located.
